Riding the ongoing wave of resort affluence and celeb- rity attention showered upon the area, Big Mood Spa was founded in Palm Springs in 2018. In an effort to stand out in a competitive market, the spa specializes in floral facials, though it also sells a number of beauty products.
With Big Mood Spa, representation was important for the team. We wanted to create a brand where anyone could see themselves. This was the beginning of casting models who looked like everyday people. One of the biggest challenges was resourcing, as this brand was shot during the height of COVID-19 lockdown, when casting and crewing safely meant working within tight constraints.
